We call on the President to refer the election violations to the Constitutional Court, Valentin Tonchev, an MP candidate of the Alliance for Rights and Freedoms (ARF), told journalists on Monday.
At a meeting Monday of the Central Operative Bureau of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms RF's Central Committee, we decided to support the declaration of Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria to create a sanitary cordon around Delyan Peevski, he said. Tonchev added that they believe the declaration should be expanded.
Our support will be firm for any initiative that seeks a recount of the ballots and a full annulment of the elections held in glaring violation before the eyes of the Bulgarian public. The democratic process on which our future is built has been brutally violated, he said.
The ARF also insisted on the establishment of an ad hoc commission to examine the role of Delyan Peevski in the events surrounding the bankruptcy of Commercial Corporate Bank, Bulgartabac, the Bulgarian Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Eight Dwarfs controversy, as well as his influence in the prosecution and the judiciary, Tonchev added. He also noted that the procedure for the election of an ombudsman and deputies in the National Audit Office should be launched urgently to ensure that any future elections "will not be manipulated by a double tandem of political puppets".
Movement for Rights and Freedoms chairman Dzhevdet Chakarov said that the vote had been replaced in all of its aspects, which is inadmissible.
"We call on all competent institutions and authorities to finally fulfill their duties and reveal the identity of the perpetrators and the clients so that what happened is not repeated," Chakarov said.
