Pirin Folk Ensemble will celebrate its 70th birthday with a performance of the stage show Blagodat [boon, blessing] at the concert hall Das MuTh in Vienna on November 6, Melange Bulgaren and Haus Wittgenstein Bulgarian Cultural Institute reported. Blagodat was first staged in Sofia's National Palace of Culture on October 27.

The ensemble, an important preserver of Bulgarian folklore, was founded in 1954. Its mission is to popularize traditional Bulgarian singing, dancing and rituals. Throughout the years, Pirin has performed more than 10,000 shows across 60-plus countries.

"Pirin thrills with colourful costumes and impressive performances that unite tradition and passion. With its performances, the ensemble carries an impulse for freedom and understanding between peoples," said Haus Wittgenstein.
