site.btaAgriculture Minister: Bulgaria's Accession to OECD of Utmost Importance for Development
Addressing a meeting of the Committee on Agriculture of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in Paris on Thursday, Agriculture and Food Minister Georgi Tahov said Bulgaria's accession to the OECD is of the utmost importance for the development of the agricultural sector. He was speaking at a hearing on the development of the agricultural sector as part of the negotiating process on Bulgaria's accession to the organization.
Tahov held discussions with the OECD Member States, the Secretariat of the Committee on Agriculture, and the European Commission representatives. During his visit, Tahov also met with Marion Jansen, Director of the OECD Trade and Agriculture Directorate.
The Committee's hearing of the Agriculture Minister marks a significant progress in the process of reviewing Bulgaria's accession to the OECD, the Agriculture Ministry said.
The event is part of OECD's Agriculture Week, which included a global forum on sustainable agricultural productivity. It discussed the implemented policies for sustainable agricultural productivity and innovation-related policies and their promotion in the agricultural sector. The forum was attended by Deputy Agriculture Minister Lozana Vasileva.
