Caretaker Minister of Education and Science Galin Tsokov opened an exhibition dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the National Museum of Education here on Friday.
The exhibition entitled Benefactors and Donors for Education in Gabrovo marks the 50th anniversary of the museum with 12 panels. Some of the great donors like Vasil Aprilov, Nikolay Palauzov, Pencho Ralchev, Dr Nikola Vasiliadi, Radion Umnikov, Dr Tota Venkova, Gen. Hristofor Hesapchiev, Petar Tsonchev and Stoyanka Tsoncheva, Pencho Semov, Marin Tabakov and Mariyka Tabakova were presented. "Using the wealth of the museum's collection, we have tried to recreate the work of these worthy Bulgarians in a proper way," said Lyubka Tincheva, Director of the National Museum of Education in Gabrovo.
Also present at the event was Gabrovo Mayor Tanya Hristova, Gabrovo Deputy Governor Ivan Lyubomirov, directors of cultural institutions, representatives of trade unions and others.
Tsokov reported that the government is aiming to open a national programme of research in education. According to him, Bulgarian education should be studied.
"We have to understand how to build our education on the basis of traditions", he said, sharing his idea of establishing an institute of education at the Ministry of Education, which would carry out research in different areas of education. He added that the National Museum of Education could become an associate partner of the future institute.
Earlier Friday, the Education Minister opened a forum on sectoral approach in vocational education and training: the essence of reforms for skills development in Gabrovo.
