A Japanese business delegation visited Multivac Group's production facility in the Sofia-Bozhurishte Industrial Zone on Wednesday.

Managing Director of Multivac Bulgaria Trifon Filipov and Managing Director of Multivac Bulgaria Production Meryem Mustafa presented the company's activities and its development over the years. They also revealed plans for growth and expansion both nationally and internationally.

Filipov said that their goal is to become the preferred global provider of technology-driven solutions through their innovative and sustainable products and services.

Multivac operates over 80 subsidiaries worldwide, with a presence on every continent. The company is a leading provider of packaging solutions for food, biological, and medical products, as well as industrial goods. Its Bulgarian plant started operations in 2018, and the company has 12 additional production sites in Germany, Austria, Spain, Brazil, China, Japan, and the USA.

Following the presentation, where the company's growth plans were outlined, the delegation was given a tour of the production facilities.

At the start of last year, the facility in the Sofia-Bozhurishte Industrial Zone unveiled a new building for its production base, spanning 5,650 square meters. This expansion brought the total production area to 12,500 square meters. The Sofia plant produces turned and milled stainless steel components used in packaging machines. It also includes the showroom for the trading company in Bulgaria and their training centre for clients and staff.

The visit to Multivac was part of a larger initiative by the Japanese delegation. BTA notes that the delegation attended the Bulgarian-Japanese Business Forum 2024, organized by the Japanese External Trade Organization (JETRO) office in Bucharest and the InvestBulgaria Agency on October 15, 2024. On the same day, accompanied by the Ambassador of Japan to Bulgaria, Hisashi Michigami, the delegation also met with President Rumen Radev.

After visiting Multivac, the Japanese delegation continued its tour of the park to explore the operations of several other major investors.
