Traffic is heavy for trucks entering Bulgaria at some border control checkpoints with Romania and Turkiye and for outbound trucks at the Bulgarian-Greek border, Border Police said. The information is valid as of 6 a.m. on Wednesday morning.
On the border with Romania, traffic is heavy for trucks entering at the Kardam and Nikopol checkpoints, and for incoming and outbound cars at the Ruse checkpoint. Temporary traffic changes have been introduced across Danube Bridge at Ruse due to major repairs on the Bulgarian section of the bridge. Traffic is restricted to one lane and is regulated by traffic lights. Drivers can take alternative routes through the checkpoints at Silistra, Kardam, Durankulak, Kaynardzha, and Krushari. The last two of these are closed to heavy-duty trucks and are open to passenger cars from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Outbound truck traffic is heavy at the Kulata checkpoint on the border with Greece. Only cars and vans are allowed to pass through the Makaza, Zlatograd, and Ivaylovgrad border crossings.
At the border with Turkiye, traffic is heavy for trucks entering Bulgaria at the Kapitan Andreevo checkpoint.
Traffic is normal at all border crossing points on the border with Serbia and the Republic of North Macedonia.
The implementation of activities under a contract related to the construction of the EU Entry/Exit System has started at Gyueshevo. The border control booths of the passing trucks will be dismantled and replaced with new ones. Temporarily, the traffic of passing trucks will be rerouted through car lanes, and crossing may take longer.
