A large greenhouse for the cultivation of  marijuana was discovered in the southeastern village of Vinarsko, Kameno Municipality, the prosecution service here reported Thursday.

At a press conference, the director of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior - Burgas, Senior Commissioner Vladimir Marinov, and Deputy District Prosecutor of Burgas Manuel Manev announced that the cannabis found is worth BGN 7,500,000. The owner of the property where the plants were found has been detained. He is 61 years old and has a criminal record.

Another person involved in the case is wanted. Work is underway to identify accomplices.

It is a greenhouse located in a field of nearly 700 square meters. It is very well equipped. Separately, about 250 kg of dried marijuana palnts were found ready for sale on the market, Marinov said. According to operational data, part of the production was for the local market, the other, larger part - for export.

Pre-trial proceedings have been opened and are being monitored by the Burgas District Prosecutor's Office.
