The American Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria (AmCham) held its regular annual general meeting on September 26, 2024, the Chamber said Wednesday. It unanimously approved the 2023 Financial Statements, registered auditor for 2023, and the 2024 Budget. "These decisions mark a significant step in ensuring continued financial stability, organizational focus and transparency to its members, the institutions and the public at large," the Chamber added.
The General Assembly was chaired by Stanislava Taneva, First Vice President of the AmCham. She opened the event by emphasizing the Chamber’s role in supporting Bulgaria’s integration into key international frameworks, such as adopting the euro and joining the OECD and Schengen. She lauded the resilience and strength of the AmCham community amidst the political and economic challenges of 2023.
Ivan Mihaylov, CEO, presented the 2023 Board of Directors Report, highlighting AmCham’s role as a proactive voice in Bulgaria’s business and policy landscape, as well as the strong focus on membership throughout the year. The report reviewed the Chamber’s achievements in advocacy and partnership building as a logical continuation of the efforts of the Board, Team, and Members. Emphasis was placed on building internal communities and strategic external partnerships through projects, initiatives and individual events.
