Traffic is intense at some of the checkpoints on Bulgaria’s border with Romania, the Interior Ministry’s Border Police Directorate said on its website on Saturday morning.

There is busy traffic for trucks exiting this country through the Vidin, Oryahovo, Durankulak and Kardam checkpoints. Temporary traffic changes have been introduced across Danube Bridge at Ruse due to major repairs on the Bulgarian section of the bridge. Traffic is carried out in one lane and is regulated by traffic lights. Drivers can take alternative routes through the checkpoints at Silistra, Kardam, Durankulak, Kaynardzha, or Krushari.

On the border with Greece, traffic is normal at all border crossing points. In view of the significantly increased number of Romanian tourists travelling to and from Greece passing through the Kulata and Makaza checkpoints, travellers are advised to use alternative crossing points at the Bulgarian-Greek border which are less congested and allow faster crossing.

Traffic is also normal at all checkpoints at the borders with Serbia, the Republic of North Macedonia and Turkiye.
