Due to tropical storm Shanshan, Bulgaria’s Foreign Ministry calls on Bulgarian nationals residing in or planning a trip to Japan to refrain from travelling to this country in the next four days, follow the local authorities' instructions, and check regularly the webpage of the Japan Meteorological Agency.

Typhoon Shanshan left six people dead in Japan, Agence France-Presse reported, citing Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshimasa Hayashi. He specified that three of the casualties were killed in a mudslide. Authorities are investigating whether a fourth death is directly linked to the typhoon, while two more people are unaccounted for and presumed dead.

Cited by Reuters earlier, Japan's Fire and Disaster Management Agency said that there are at least three dead and 78 injured.

Bulgarian nationals in Japan can contact the Embassy of Bulgaria in case they need assistance.
