The Rivers of the City Festival will be held in Gabrovo for the third consecutive year between August 23 and 25, the local administration said on Tuesday.

The festival's music programme will include live performances by Revue band vocalist Rusita Boeva, the Zormajor ethnic orchestra, which gained popularity in 2024, as well as NINIO & The Groovers with vocals by Ilin Papazyan and the Cool Den band.

The festival will also exhibit art installations by Bulgarian artists, including Alexander Valchev and Dobrin Atanasov. Gabrovo residents and the guests of the city are also invited to family workshops, open-air cinema, shadow theatre, among many other activities, the Gabrovo Municipality further said.

The Rivers of the City festival aims to inspire the community and engage youth and experts in co-creating new spaces along the banks of the Yantra River, offering new opportunities for cultural and social initiatives. "We want to emphasize how important communities and art are for the development of the urban environment. We aim to build on these foundations, pushing the festival more and more towards developing the natural, cultural and touristic potential of Gabrovo", said one the organizers of the festival, adding that Gabrovo youth stands at the heart of the initiative.

The festival is part of the Collective for Gabrovo initiative, supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology and Gabrovo Municipality.
