site.btaBulgarian Students Win 6 Medals at International Linguistics Olympiad in Brazil
Bulgarian students returned with one silver and five bronze medals from the International Linguistics Olympiad in Brazil, which took place between July 23 and 31. Representatives of nearly 40 countries participated in this year's edition, the Ministry of Education and Science said in a press release Thursday.
The silver medal went to twelfth-grader Nia Dimitrova from the Paisii Hilendarski High School of Mathematics in Sofia.
The five bronze medals went to twelfth-graders Anni Kateleyeva (Konstantin-Kiril Philosopher National High School for Ancient Languages and Cultures in Sofia), Nikolay Georgiev (St Kliment Ohridski High School of Mathematics in Silistra), Magdalena Vigenina (Paisii Hilendarski High School of Mathematics in Sofia) and eleventh-grader Sirma Kadardzhova and ninth-grader Ivanimira Nedelcheva from Paisii Hilendarski High School of Mathematics.
Team leaders are Alexander Velinov from the Union of Bulgarian Mathematicians and Lyubomir Zlatkov from the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
