The perimeter of the wildfire at the Bulgarian-Greek Border has expanded on Monday night and spread across the firebreak, but was contained, the Southwest State Enterprise told BTA on Tuesday.
All available teams were mobilised and dispatched to the fire.
On Monday, caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev and Interior Minister Kalin Stoyanov visited the southwestern village of Petrovo to inspect the wildfire situation. Stoyanov told journalists that two planes sent by France under the EU Civil Protection Mechanism have already joined the firefighting at the Bulgarian-Greek border.
