There is heavy traffic at some of Bulgaria's border control checkpoints with Romania, Serbia, Greece, and Turkiye, Border Police said on their website Tuesday. The information is valid as at 6 am.

At the border with Romania, there is heavy traffic for trucks exiting Bulgaria through the Danube Bridge Ruse, Danube Bridge Vidin, Kardam, Oryahovo, and Durankulak border control checkpoints. Border Police has received information from the Romanian border authorities about temporary freight traffic restrictions on Romanian territory due to the high temperatures. Trucks heavier than 12 tonnes have to stay parked from 11 am to 7 pm on Tuesday. All border crossings with Romania are experiencing heavy traffic for cars in both directions. Due to repair works of the Giurgiu-Ruse bridge on the Bulgarian side, traffic is controlled by  traffic lights to let vehicles through in stages.

At the border with Greece, there is heavy traffic for trucks exiting Bulgaria at Kulata. Tourists heading to Greece are advised to use alternative checkpoints to Kulata and Makaza to avoid slower crossing, such as Ilinden and Zlatograd, respectively. The Kapitan Petko Voyvoda crossing is also a good alternative.

At the border with Serbia, there is heavy traffic for cars entering the country through the Kalotina crossing.

At the border with Turkiye, there is heavy traffic in both directions at the Kapitan Andreevo, Lessovo, and Malko Tarnovo checkpoints.

Traffic at the border crossing points with North Macedonia is normal.
