Ivelina Vasileva was born in Burgas (on the Black Sea) on October 8, 1969. Holds Master's degree in English Philology from Sofia University. Post-graduate work at Sofia's University of World and National Economy.

Burgas deputy mayor for European integration and environment (2007-2009).

Elected to four parliaments: 42nd, 43rd, 44th and 45th National Assembly (2013-2021).

Deputy minister of environment and water (2009-2013). Minister of environment and water (2014-2017).
