BTA's National Press Club in Odesa will host the opening of the 19th World Meeting of Bulgarian Media, which will take place in Ukraine.
This year the meeting will focus on „Media and Community" and the event will be in a hybrid format - on-site and via video conference. The forum will be on until June 21, with taking place in three cities - Odesa, Bolhrad and Izmail, where there are large Bulgarian communities.
The meeting will be opened by BTA Director General Kiril Valchev. Vice President Iliana Iotova will address the participants online.
invited to the opening are Oleg Kipper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Odesa Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov, Rayna Mandzukova, Executive Director of the Executive Agency for Bulgarians Abroad, Bulgaria; Svetoslav Ivanov, Consul General of Bulgaria in Odesa; Maria Popova, representative of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) in Odesa region, Serhiy Cherevaty, Director General of Ukraine's national news agency Ukrinform.
Journalists from 14 countries, including Bulgaria, will participate in the forum - in person and online. A total of 23 journalists from 18 Bulgarian-language media around the world will participate in the forum. Representatives of 13 media from Bulgaria will also take part in the discussion.
