Resigning and giving up my seat Parliament is my way to apologize and prove that I understand the failure and I am taking responsibility, said Yes Bulgaria outgoing leader Hristo Ivanov said on Darik Radio, quoted by his party’s press office.Asked to comment on the possible formation of a government after the elections, he said that "if GERB enters into an open coalition with the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) and There Is Such a People as a fig leaf, it will cost Borisov an awful lot and he knows it."

According to him, Peevski's internal situation in the MRF is extremely uncertain. Ivanov expressed his conviction that GERB and MRF were not winners of the previous elections, but Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria had failed and as a result he resigned. Ivanov stressed that his action did not come as a beautiful gesture, but because of the many mistakes made.

According to him, the CC-DB coalition has not been able to explain with what ideas it was running in the last elections. Ivanov said that Nikolay Denkov was a good prime minister "in an extremely difficult situation and without real support".

Earlier on Saturday, it transpired that Ivanov will be sworn in as MP and then give up his seat in line with the constitutional and election procedures.
