European industrial producer prices accelerated their decline in April. Industrial producer prices in the European Union went down by 0.7% in April compared to March, while for the same period in the eurozone the price drop was 1, said Eurostat on its official website by, presenting its latest data on industrial prices.
In Bulgaria, in April, compared to March, industrial producer prices decreased by 0.8%, significantly slowing down their monthly decline reported for March, February and January (respectively 3.4%, 1.5% and 1.8%).
On an annual basis in April, industrial producer prices in Bulgaria decreased by 10.6%. In March they were down by 12.8%, in February - by 12.1%, and in January - by 17.8%.
Among the EU countries in April, only Slovakia (22.8%) and Ireland (13.7 percent) reported larger annual declines in production prices in industry compared to Bulgaria.
EU industrial wholesale prices decreased by 2.5% in the energy sector, but went up in capital goods (0.1%), consumer durables (0.2%), consumer non-durables (0.2 %) and intermediate goods (0.2%).
Prices in all industries except the Energy sector increased by 0.2%. At the same time in the eurozone, energy prices decreased by 3.6%.
Year-on-year producer prices in the EU in April increased in the production of capital goods (1.5%), durable consumer goods (1%) and non-durable consumer goods (0.9%). The indicator marked a decrease in the production of intermediate goods (3.9%) and energy (14.7%).
The most significant annual decline in industry producer prices among EU member states in April was registered in Slovakia (22.8%), Ireland (13.7%) and Bulgaria (10.6%). At the other end of the scale, the biggest price increases were in Luxembourg (18%), Czechia (1.4%), Malta (0.7%) and Sweden (0.6%).
