site.btaNational Network for Children Presents Golden Apple Awards in Causes Supporting Children
On the eve of June 1, International Children's Day, the National Children's Network (NCD) presented the Golden Apple awards and honoured individuals and causes supporting children. This was the 14th edition of the initiative. The awards were presented for contributions to the rights and well-being of children in Bulgaria.
Caretaker Health Minsister Galya Kondeva presented the prize in the Children's Hospital category to the Zebra Obstetrics Practice at the St. Sofia Multidisciplinary Hospital for Active Treatment. She stated that the efforts of the current leadership of the ministry are aimed at building the National Children's Hospital.
The overall contribution award went to Prof. Neli Petrova. A special award was presented to Iliana Nikolova, Wxecutive Director of the Workshop for Civil Initiatives Foundation. The Cedar Foundation was awarded in the Children's Organization category. The organizer of the Kindness Marathon Viktoria Petrova received the Children's Hero award.
St. Kliment Ohridski Primary School in the village of Kichevo was awarded in the School/Kindergarten category. Troyan Municipality won in the Municipality category. Before the presentation of the award, a video was screened, featuring children sharing how they imagine the work of the mayor and the municipality. Kristiyan Yulzari won in the Journalist category.
This year's Children's Heroes campaign was dedicated to NCD's Education for Every Child cause, which aims to bring about key changes in the education system and access to quality and inclusive education. The Golden Apple awards were accompanied by musical performances by children.
