The Interdepartmental Coordination Mechanism to the Foreign Ministry held a regular meeting of the Interdepartmental Coordination Mechanism (MCM) on Bulgaria's accession to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the press centre of the Foreign Ministry said.

On Tuesday, Deputy Foreign Minister Maria Angelieva stressed the continuity and strong commitment of the caretaker government to one of the main foreign policy priorities for the country - Bulgaria's accession to the OECD. Angelieva welcomed the progress achieved in the negotiation process. She called for maintaining an active pace on the part of all involved departments and institutions.

Angelieva presented the results of the annual meeting of the OECD Council at Ministerial Level, held on May 2 and 3 in Paris. She highlighted Bulgaria's participation in the forum at the highest political level, which is a clear message of this country's consistent commitment and direct participation in discussions on important topics on the organization's agenda.

During the meeting, an overview of the current status of the accession process was conducted. Recommendations received from technical review reports were discussed, as well as measures already taken and planned with the goal of bringing national policies and legislation in line with OECD standards and requirements.
