A meeting of Bulgaria-related business in the Republic of North Macedonia was organized by the Bulgarian Embassy in Skopje.

Bulgarian Ambassador Angel Angelov pointed out that in recent years the trade between the two countries has grown. In 2022 it exceeded EUR 1 billion , in 2023 it was EUR 1.2 billion, and in 2024 year record growth is also expected. Exports from the Republic of North Macedonia to Bulgaria are also growing, which shows that businesses are also interested in the Bulgarian market.

On the other hand, the construction of a railway connection is slightly delayed, as well as other key infrastructure, Angelov noted, stressing that regardless of the political relations between the two countries, the the relations between the people are important and should be facilitated. The Ambassador thanked the Macedonian-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce for their efforts in this regard, underscoring the potential opportunities for business development between the two countries.

Macedonian-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce Bilyana Miteva also expressed her gratitude on behalf of the business sector for the support for economic development between the two countries.

"Thank you for connecting businesses between the two countries, for helping us discover the things that bring us together, not those that divide us," she stressed as she presented a gift of icons to Ambassador Angelov, as well as to the head of the Commercial and Economic Office of Bulgaria in North Macedonia, Krasimir Dragnev, and to the second secretary at the Embassy of Bulgaria Reni Ivanova, in recognition of the assistance which the chamber and its members have received from them.
