site.btaUPDATED BTA Signs Cooperation Agreement with Lyubomir Pipkov National School of Music
At the BTA National Press Club here on Monday, the Bulgarian News Agency and the Lyubomir Pipkov National School of Music signed a long-term cooperation agreement. The agreement was signed on the eve of the 120th anniversary of the establishment of the school and the 120th anniversary of the birth of the school's patron – Bulgarian composer Lyubomir Pipkov. The document was signed by the school’s Director Stolina Dobreva and BTA Director General Kiril Valchev.
The Lyubomir Pipkov National School of Music is the sixth vocational school with which BTA has a partnership agreement, following agreements with the National Vocational High School of Printing and Photography, the Aprilov National High School in Gabrovo, the Saint Constantine-Cyril the Philosopher National School for Ancient Languages and Cultures, the Alphonse de Lamartine Ninth French Language High School, and the Sofia Theological Seminary. BTA also has partnership agreements with 31 Bulgarian universities.
On one hand, Valchev explained, the point of these partnerships is for BTA to promote the achievements of Bulgarian education, and on the other - the agency needs interns, specialized editors, and reporters to professionally cover Bulgaria’s rich musical life. He noted that BTA now lacks competent stories about musical events and would like the agency to go beyond just reporting the news of what was performed on stage and by whom.
Dobreva said that the Lyubomir Pipkov National School of Music is the oldest musical institution in Bulgaria. "It was founded by a group of enthusiasts, and enthusiasm is still at the core of our school team’s activities", she underscored.
