April 1st is expected to be the warmest day since the beginning of the year in Romania, forecasters in the country report. Temperatures will go up to 32C, 31C in Bucharest.
March 31 was the hottest day in Romania for the last 77 years. Although summer is still far away, the country experienced its second tropical night with temperatures above 20C. The record was registered in Resita with 22C.
March 31 was the warmest March night in the history of Romanian records, reported Digi 24. The media also informs that on March 30, 41 daily records were set, one of them in Giurgiu, where the maximum temperature was 29.8C.
From Tuesday, temperatures are expected to drop, in some places by ten degrees. There will also be showers. Meteorologists have issued yellow and orange codes for storms and strong winds, in effect nationwide until Tuesday evening. Winds are expected to reach 100-120 km/h in the higher parts of the Western and Southern Carpathians.
