site.btaEdmond Nazaryan Wins Bronze at 2024 European Wrestling Championships
Edmond Nazaryan secured Bulgaria's first medal from the 2024 European Wrestling Championships here on Tuesday. Nazaryan defeated France's representative Stefan Clement to win the bronze at the Men's Greco-Roman 63 kg category.
Nazaryan performed two nearly successful attacks, however, Clement ultimately evaded them both. Neither athlete managed to score points during the two periods. With the score even, Nazaryan was declared victor by criteria.
While Nazaryan was among the highest-scoring wrestlers on the mat on Monday, recording 19 points in his first two wins, he did lose his match for a place in the final against Ukrainian Oleksandr Hrushyn.
Another Bulgarian wrestler, Stefan Grigorov, lost to Manvel Khachatryan for the bronze in the Men's Greco-Roman 55 kg category.
