site.btaCabinet Allocates Over BGN 1.4 Million for Children Without a Place in Kindergarten

The State will pay BGN 1,416,877 in compensation to families whose children were not provided a place in kindergarten in the period from November 1 to December 31, 2023. Of these, BGN 1,413,315 are for 1,603 children in Sofia municipality and BGN 3,562 for four children in Plovdiv municipality, the Government Information Service reported Wednesday.

Parents of children from the age of three until they enter first grade who are not admitted to state or municipal kindergartens or schools to which they have applied are entitled to compensation from the State. They have not been offered an equivalent place in a municipal kindergarten or school by the municipality of their place of residence.
