site.btaLudogorets Defeat Polish Football Champions in Friendly Match
Bulgarian football champions Ludogorets Razgrad defeated Polish champions Rakow Czestochowa 3-1 in a friendly match in the Turkish resort of Belek on Saturday.
This is Ludogorets' second success in Turkiye after a 3-0 victory against Slovenia's Olimpija Ljubljana.
Kwadwo Duah opened the score in the Bulgarians' favour as early as the first minute after receiving the ball from Caio Vidal. The Poles equalized six minutes later through Ante Crnac, but Ludogorets soon regained their lead after an own goal by Adnan Kovacevic. During extra time, Rick Jhonatan hit the last goal for Lodogorets to seal the score at 3-1.
Ludogorets will have three more tryouts in Turkiye. They will play three Czech first-league teams: Teplice (12th of 16 in the 2022-2023 season) on January 30, Sigma Olomouc (6th) on January 31, and Mlada Boleslav (9th) on February 3.
Ludogorets head coach Georgi Dermendzhiev commented for Diema Sport television: "I am pleased with the guys but there is still room for improvement. We defeated the Polish champions, which gave us confidence. Kwadwo has recovered from an injury, he is a great forward. We do not need many new players, but there will probably be incoming transfers."
