Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) leader Korneliya Ninova accused the Government of withholding from the public a commitment it has assumed to accept back immediately an unlimited number of asylum seekers for which Bulgaria is responsible.
At a news briefing on Thursday, Ninova showed a protocol to the EU Council decision according to which Bulgaria assumed this commitment "without having any say whatsoever about the number of people who will come here."
The Socialist leader accused the Government of using disinformation and fake news.
"We deserve full-fledged Schengen membership, with removal of air, water and land border controls. We regard what the Government did as backing off from this position and betraying the national interest," Ninova said.
