site.btaBulgarian Cultural Centre in Odesa Hosts Exhibition
An exhibition opened at the Bulgarian Cultural Centre in the Ukrainian Black Sea city of Odesa on Thursday. Titled Exhibition of the Invincible - Art Offensive, the project is the brainchild of Olena Alekseenko, who is an Honorary Worker of Culture of Ukraine.
"This project aims to show people, through art, the indomitable spirit of the Ukrainian people. The exhibition includes works by 16 artists based in Odesa and the region. Two of the artists have Bulgarian roots: Yury Pismak and Yury Belchev," Olena Alekseenko told BTA.
The exposition was officially opened by the welcoming speeches of the guests of honor: Dimitar Terzi, Director of the Bulgarian Cultural Centre, Yuri Rabotin, Chair of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine’s Odesa Branch, Igor Bilyakov, Director of the Odesa Zoo.
"The Bulgarian Cultural Centre is open not only for the Bulgarian community but also for the representatives of our multinational city of Odessa. Up to 50 art exhibitions are organized here throughout the year. We work in close cooperation with all cultural institutions in the city and NGOs. This exhibition is also part of our joint activities," Terzi told BTA.
Odessa citizens and visitors to the city will be able to see the artists’ works until December 16 in the exhibition hall of the Bulgarian Cultural Centre.
