The Palestinian Embassy in Bulgaria organized an event to commemorate the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People in Sofia on Thursday.

The commemoration began with a minute of silence in honour of the victims of conflicts and proceeded with the national anthems of Bulgaria and Palestine. An exhibition was also presented.

"Today, in this tragic situation, we will rely mostly on images. Let them speak for themselves," said Adham Zainaldin, Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of Palestine in Bulgaria. He called for the elimination of injustice. Zainaldin thanked the Bulgarian people and wished them peace, stability and prosperity. "May Bulgaria continue its progress," he said.

The International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People has been observed since 1978. It was established by a UN General Assembly Resolution of December 2, 1977.
