The highest temperatures in Bulgaria in December will be between 13C and 18C. The lowest will be between minus 10C and minus 5C.
The average temperature will be around normal, which is between 0 and 2C in the plains and Northern Bulgaria, between 2 and 3C in the Upper Thracian Plain, between 4 and 6C in Southern Bulgaria and on the Coast, between minus 8 and minus 2C in the mountains.
Monthly precipitation in most parts of the country will be around and above normal, between 40 and 60 litres per square metre in most parts, up to 70 litres per square metre in the mountains, between 70 and 110 litres per square metre in the southern parts of the country.
December 1-10: Relatively warm at the start of the month, partly cloudy with medium and high clouds. Between December 2 and 4, thicker clouds with rain showers in many places, changing to snow as temperatures drop in the northwestern part of the country.
Chance of precipitation decreases towards the middle of the period, but the chance of foggy weather increases in the plains in the mornings. Temperatures near normal. Significant clouds in the second half of the period, snow showers, colder than normal.
December 11-20: Temperatures to rise to normal or higher. Decreased chance of precipitation. Reduced visibility conditions in lowlands and valleys in the mornings.
Significant clouds towards the middle of the period. Precipitation and drop in the temperatures.
December 21-31: Normal temperatures, no precipitation at the start of the period. Temperatures higher than the average. Precipitation in most parts of the country, snow in Northern Bulgaria.
