By order of Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov, Dimitar Georgiev has been appointed Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, the Ministry's press service reported on Friday.

Georgiev was born in Plovdiv, South Central Bulgaria, on March 30, 1969. Municipal councillor in Plovdiv between 2015 and 2017. MP in the 44th National Assembly between 2017 and 2021, member of the Committee on Youth and Sports Matters there.

Long-standing member of the Board of the Bulgarian Boxing Federation and the Executive Committee of the Bulgarian Football Union.

Master's degree in Sport in School from Paisii Hilendarski University of Plovdiv.
