site.btaTurk Charged with Attempted Smuggling of Antique Coins out of Bulgaria

A Turkish citizen with name initials A. O. has been charged by the Sofia District Prosecution Office under Bulgaria's Penal Code, the Sofia Appellate Prosecution Office reported on Monday.

At about 10 p.m. on Sunday, the man made an illegal attempt to take cultural property out of Bulgaria via the Kalotina crossing on the border with Serbia. Customs officers found 838 antique coins during the check.

The suspect was taken into 72-hour custody.
