site.btaDefence Minister to Take Part in Meetings of Foreign Affairs Council (Defence), EDA Steering Board

Defence Minister Todor Tagarev will take part in meetings of the Foreign Affairs Council (Defence) and the European Defence Agency's (EDA) Steering Board which will be held in Brussels on November 14, his Ministry said on Monday.

The Council is expected to discuss issues related to the European Union's (EU) support to Ukraine in the light of Russia's ongoing military aggression. Ukraine’s Defence Minister Rustem Umierov is expected to join the talks by videoconference.

Issues related to the activation of the EU Rapid Deployment Capacity (EU RDC), EU missions and operations in the Sahel region and the Western Balkans, as well as the security situation in the Middle East and the South Caucasus will also be discussed.

At the meeting of EDA’s Steering Board, the ministers will discuss issues related to the Agency's budget for 2024, as well as priorities for the development of defence capabilities.
