Vassil Terziev, who won the second round of Sofia's mayoral election on November 5, will be inducted as mayor on November 13, the Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria and Save Sofia coalition, which nominated him, said on Friday. Terziev won 48.20% of the vote against Vanya Grigorova, who won 46.89% of the vote as the nominee of a left-wing coalition led by the Sofia chapter of the Bulgarian Socialist Party.

The Sofia City Administrative Court Friday rejected Grigorova's application to stay the anticipatory enforcement of a decision of Sofia's Municipal Election Commission naming Sofia's mayor, the court said. The court ruled promptly on this application. Its decision is appealable before the Supreme Administrative Court.

Also on Friday, the court instituted a case on an appeal against Vassil Terziev's election as mayor of Sofia. The application was filed on Thursday by Vanya Grigorova in her capacity as mayoral candidate and Ivan Takov in his capacity as chairman and representative of the BSP for Bulgaria local coalition. The court is to schedule a hearing of the administrative case next week.
