Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) floor leader Delyan Peevski stated here Thursday that the “assemblage” is stable and the current government should stay in office. Assemblage is a word that is often used for the government of Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria and GERB (and its support from MRF) when the speaker wants to underscore its perceived unprincipled nature.

“This Atlantic government must continue to exist, it would be absolutely detrimental to the country and the people if it does not and we once again enter into a cycle of caretaker cabinets – it would be a disaster for the state,” Peevski told journalists in Parliament.

“We do not see any problems. There will be no problems if the ministers start implementing all the things on the agenda that we have supported,” he added.

The MRF floor leader also agreed with GERB leader Boyko Borissov’s suggestion that the ministers should report every week to the parliamentary committees: “We see that there is a backlog of programmes. [Through such meetings we will be able] to see what we can help them with and what they need to do for the State to move forward,” Peevski noted.

He was adamant that the MRF will not seek appointment of their ministers or deputy ministers in the government – neither now, nor after the rotation of the top office between Nikolay Denkov and GERB’s Mariya Gabriel takes place.
