The weather is clear and sunny in the mountains on Thursday, conditions for hiking are good, the Mountain Rescue Service told BTA. Everywhere in the mountains above 1,600 meters above sea level there is already a snow cover of 2-4 cm.

The Balkan Range is windy, lows above 2,000 m are falling to minus 7C.

Mountain rescuers remind that in the mountains the conditions are already wintry and hikers should comply with the markings and trails, prepare well with appropriate equipment, charge their phones, and avoid hiking alone.

Mountain Rescue also recommends that hikers have the service's mobile app downloaded, which they can use to send a signal if they get lost and can be easily located.
