site.btaBulgaria to Back Gijon Declaration on Housing for All Tabled by Spanish EU Presidency

At an EU Informal Ministerial Meeting on Housing and Urban Development in Gijon on November-14, Bulgaria will support a draft Declaration of Gijon, proposed by the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

This transpires from Bulgaria's position for the event which the Council of Ministers adopted on Wednesday. "This country supports the steps to contain the steadily rising costs incurred by households on the acquisition and use of housing in the EU," the Government Information Service said.

The draft declaration, titled "Affordable, Inclusive, Quality Housing for All," sets forth the Union's aspirations to ensure access to decent and suitable housing and a sufficient stock at affordable prices while promoting the setting up of a more sustainable, healthy and inclusive urban environment.
