With our partners in the ruling coalition, we should very carefully draw the lines which should not be crossed, because otherwise we will begin to lose our identity and we can’t afford this because we are backed by the centre-right, GERB leader Boyko Borissov told the party’s parliamentary group. His speech is livestreamed on his Facebook page.

GERB’s parliamentary group is holding a meeting at the party headquarters to discuss the election result and the implementation of the governance and legislative agenda,

It is interesting why after the elections there are measures which envisage a drastic increase in property taxes, said Borissov. Some taxes will be raised by 40-50%, while GERB’s agenda clearly says that we won’t allow taxes to be increased, he added. Giver that new debt is raised, there should be a conversation where the money will go and whether there will be funding for projects which GERB prioritizes.

Borissov said that the mechanism of the ruling coalition perhaps should be renegotiated. GERB doesn’t have deputy ministers in the Regional Development Ministry and the Health Ministry, the Tax Revenue Agency, the Customs Agency. He said that it is not a good thing to have 20-30 people at leaders' meetings. GERB propose in the current situation the respective ministers in the respective committees to look at deadline and say what we’ll do. Then we can say that we share in the responsibility, said Borissov.
