August 25 (BTA) - The state of epidemic emergency in Bulgaria, prompted by the spread of COVID-19, will be extended by a month until September 30, Health Minister Kostadin Angelov said on Tuesday. A proposal to this effect will be submitted to the Council of Ministers during its next meeting, probably on Wednesday, Angelov said.

The measures against COVID-19 will not be tightened if the morbidity rate does not rise, the Minister said.

He was in Varna to meet with the Regional Health Inspectorate and hospital directors from the region. A coordination centre will become operational at the local Infectious Disease Clinic on Wednesday. Any time an ambulance brings a patient, an officer on duty at the coordination centre will decide which hospital the patient should be sent to. RI/VE
