Social Policy Minister to Pay Working Visit to Portugal in Search for Good Practices against Child Poverty

Social Policy Minister Ivanka Shalapatova will pay a working visit to the Portuguese capital Lisbon from 25 to 27 October, her Ministry said here on Tuesday. She will lead a large Bulgarian delegation with experts in the field of policies for children. 

The purpose of the visit is to get acquainted with Portugal's good practices in the implementation of measures under the European Child Guarantee. The working programme of the visit includes bilateral meetings with Portugal's Labour, Solidarity and Social Security Minister Ana Mendes Godinho and Secretary of State for Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities Ana Sofia Antunes.

Measures ensuring adequate housing, access to education, healthcare and quality food for disadvantaged children will be presented during the talks.

The Bulgarian delegation will also include Deputy Labour Minister Elka Nalbantova, European Child Guarantee National Coordinator Natalia Efremova, as well as parliamentary Committee on Labour, Social and Demographic Policy member and Democratic Bulgaria MP Elisaveta Belobradova.
