Bulgarian Industries

Sofia, September 10 (BTA) - For the first time ever, Bulgaria is mapping its industry, the Economy Ministry said Thursday. It is an initiative by the Ministry aimed at consolidating the economic maps of Bulgarian business. It launched Thursday thanks to the collaboration of the Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency (BSMEPA) and the Automotive Cluster Bulgaria (ACB).
The project includes maps and data on 14 industrial sectors. These can be viewed on bgindustrymap.com where one picks an industry and is shown a map of Bulgaria with all producers in the chosen sector. The available information includes revenue, profit, number of employees and contact information.
During the event where the industry map website was presented, Economy Minister Lachezar Borisov said, as quoted by his Ministry, that the project aims to achieve a synergy between investors, and the business and education.
The Minister of Economy also said that the mapping process uses the available statistical and other data in the trade register. The information will be interactive and updated on a regular basis. RY/MT
