US actor, screenwriter, and producer William Baldwin will play in a film that will be shot in Bulgaria, said Jacqueline Wagenstein, the owner, president and art director of the CineLibri film and books festival, said at a news conference at the BTA national press club on Friday. She said that two shooting days will be held with director/producer Andy Deliana.
Baldwin is in Bulgaria to head the jury of the 9th CineLibri festival, held from October 6 to 29. Deliana is a member of the jury.
The future film is titled My Mother is a Cosmonaut and its crew also includes Canadian producer and casting director Bruno Rosato. Rosato is also on the CineLibri jury. It is a film about the 1990s and the shocks that people experienced, especially in the former communist bloc countries, explained Deliana.
Baldwin's fellow jurists are Bruno Rosato, French film director and actress Lea Todorov, Spanish TV and film actress Carla Nieto, and Bulgarian theatre and film actor Ivan Barnev. The jury will choose from eleven competing titles, most of which premiered at the Cannes, Venice, Berlin and Toronto festivals. The winner will be announced Friday evening in Hall 1 of Sofia’s National Palace of Culture.
