site.bta3,163 PCR Tests Confirm 143 New COVID-19 Cases, Bringing Bulgaria's Total to 18,061

September 15 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 18,061 on Tuesday after 143 new infections were confirmed over the last 24 hours out of 3,163 PCR tests, according to data posted on www.coronavirus.bg.

Bourgas Region tops the list of new cases with 24 patients, followed by Kurdjali Region with 19 and Stara Zagora Region with 15.

A total of 467,820 PCR tests have been performed since the first cases were diagnosed on March 8.

The active cases are 4,402. The newly infected persons include 5 medical staff (2 doctors and 3 nurses), and this category now totals 1,009.

The hospitalized patients number 730, including 49 in intensive care.

Another 163 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 12,930.

Nine more fatalities were reported, and the death toll now totals 729. RI/LG
