site.bta109 New Cases of COVID-19 Confirmed in Bulgaria, Two Patients Die
September 23 (BTA) - The Bulgarian healthcare authorities
confirmed 109 new cases of COVID-19 in the country out of 3,049
PCR tests made over the past 24 hours, according to data
published on the national coronavirus web portal on Wednesday
morning.
The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria since
the beginning of the pandemic reached 19,123 out of 499,066 PCR
tests. A total of 1,063 medical staff have been diagnosed with
the disease so far.
Two COVID-19 patients died in the country over the past 24
hours, bringing the overall death toll to 767. Meanwhile, 21
patients recovered. A total of 13,748 recoveries have been
registered since the start of the pandemic.
There are 4,608 active cases of COVID-19 in Bulgaria. Seven
hundred and sixteen patients are in hospital, including 31 in
intensive care wards.
The new cases of the past 24 hours were confirmed in the
following regions: Sofia City (30), Blagoevgrad (25), Bourgas
(9), Plovdiv (7), Varna (6), Smolyan (6), Turgovishte (4),
Vratsa (3), Kurdzhali (3), Kyustendil (3), Gabrovo (2), Sliven
(2), Stara Zagora (2), Yambol (2), Veliko Turnovo (1), Montana
(1), Pazardzhik (1), Pleven (1) and Haskovo (1). RY/VE
