September 23 (BTA) - Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, Saudi Arabia's Deputy Energy Minister Aabed Abdullah al-Saadoun, Minister of Energy Temenuzhka Petkova, Bulgartransgaz CEO Vladimir Malinov and representatives of the project contractor Arkad inspected the construction site of the Balkan Stream gas pipeline via helicopter on Wednesday, shared Prime Minister Borissov on Facebook. A video of the inspection was shared live on the Prime Minister's social media page as well.

''The project is entering its final phase. All the necessary pipes for the site are already available and are being distributed along the route, over 474 km. More than 2,500 workers from different countries are working in the field. This is a really huge project, in the implementation of which 1,420 pieces of heavy construction machinery and specialized equipment have been mobilized. With the implementation of Balkan Stream, Bulgaria is becoming a regional strategic gas distribution centre and guarantees diversification of gas supplies,'' Borissov told his guest, Deputy Minister Aabed Abdullah al-Saadoun.
