Sofia, October 5 (BTA) - There were a total of 69 new coronavirus cases in Bulgaria based on 1,278 PCR tests performed in the 24 hours until midnight on Sunday, according to the national coronavirus portal.The positivity rate is 5.3 per cent.

The new cases add up to a total of 21,587 since the start of the pandemic, of which 5,729 are active cases.

The largest number of new cases are reported for Sofia (24) and Montana (12).

Three patients died in the period under review, adding up to a total of 844 fatalities.

Thirty new recoveries are reported.

A total of 917 patients are in hospital, including 56 in intensive care.

The infections among medical personnel total 1,188 since the start of the pandemic. LN/
