PM Borissov Tests
Positive for
Coronavirus
Sofia, October 25 (BTA) - Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said Sunday that he has tested positive for coronavirus. He feels general discomfort and will stay at home.
"After two [negative] PCR tests, I tested positive today. I feel general discomfort. The doctors recommended that I stay at home," Borissov wrote in a Facebook post on Sunday afternoon.
He said he has informed the health authorities of all his contacts in the recent days.
On October 23, Borissov said he was self-isolating after being in contact with Deputy Regional Development Minister Nikolay Nankov who had tested positive for the coronavirus. On Saturday the Sofia health inspectorate allowed the Prime Minister to end the quarantine after two negative tests.
Borissov said in his Sunday post about the positive test that despite the permission to end the quarantine, he cancelled all his meetings and public appointments for the coming days.
"I believe that we can handle this together if we observe the restrictions!" he wrote on Facebook. LN/DD
