site.btaPM Borissov Has Video Conference Call with German Chancellor Merkel

November 3 (BTA) - Prime Minister Boyko Borissov Tuesday had a video conference call with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, the government's information service here said.

"Bulgaria and myself are grateful for the commitment of the German Presidency of the EU Council and to you personally for the search of formulas to allow the start of EU membership negotiations of the Republic of North Macedonia," Borissov told Merkel, quoted in the press release.

Borissov set out Bulgaria's position presented on Monday in Berlin by Bulgarian Foreign Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva.

During the 40-minute call, Borissov expressed certainty that with the aid of Germany, especially during the country's EU Council Presidency, true and right solutions on the topic will be reached. RY/ZH
