site.bta5,729 PCR Tests Confirm 2,279 New COVID-19 Cases, Bringing Bulgaria's Total to 120,697

Sofia, November 22 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19
cases in Bulgaria reached 120,697 after PCR tests identified
2,279 new infections in the 24 hours until Saturday midnight,
according to data posted on www.coronavirus.bg. The test
positivity rate now stands at 39.78 per cent.

Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 432 positive
tests, followed by Varna Region with 200, Bourgas Region with
179, and Dobrich Region with 154.

A total of 911,936 PCR tests have been performed since the first
 infections were diagnosed on March 8.

The active cases are 82,125. The newly infected persons include
96 medical staff (26 doctors, 34 nurses, 14 orderlies, 2
feldshers and 20 other), and this category now totals 4,737.

Currently, the hospitalized patients number 6,193, including 408
 in intensive care.

Another 1,364 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24
hours, bringing the total to 35,1752.

Forty-two more fatalities were reported, and the death toll now
totals 2,820.
