Industrial producer prices in Bulgaria decreased by 2.4% in June 2023 compared with May 2023, showing the second-highest decrease in the EU, equal to that in Latvia. Hungary reported the highest decrease of 2.5%, the Statistical Office of the European Commission (Eurostat) said on Thursday.

The month-on-month fall of industrial producer prices in Bulgaria was lower in June 2023 than in May 2023, when it stood at 2.5%, and April 2023, when it was 3.2%.

EU-wide, industrial producer prices in June 2023 went down by 0.4% compared with May 2023. The same percentage was reported in the euro area. In May 2023 against April 2023, the fall in both the EU and the euro area was 1.9%.

In June 2023 compared with June 2022, industrial producer prices in Bulgaria showed the third highest decrease in the EU, going down by 11.4%. Ireland tops the ranking with 17.1%, and Belgium is second with 12.4%.

At the EU level, industrial producer prices fell by 2.4% year on year, and in the euro area they went down by 3.4%.
